A replacement pilot seat in 1:48 scale for models of the Soviet fighters LaGG-3 and La-5/La-7.
Responsibility details are not available.
The LaGG-3 and the La-5 and La-7 that grew out of its airframe were among the most numerous Soviet fighters of the Second World War. Their cockpits were cramped and plain, so the seat takes up a substantial part of what can be seen under a slid-back canopy. On a model it therefore decides the impression of the whole interior more than any other single part.
The package brings a replacement pilot seat in 1:48 scale. It takes the place of the kit part and is fitted into the cockpit before it is closed up. The extent of the set, the number of parts and the kits it is calculated for are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The material is not polystyrene, so the joint is made with super glue. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder down so that the seat sits square on the cockpit floor. Before painting, wash it in lukewarm water with dish soap and let it dry, otherwise the paint holds poorly.
The set is for a modeler building a Soviet fighter with an open cockpit who wants the interior on a par with the rest of the model. Even a beginner can manage it, the work takes a while and calls for no cutting into the kit. It is an accessory to your own model; paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
