A plastic kit of the historic sailing frigate Bonhomme Richard in 1:500 scale from the Czech brand Smer.
Responsibility details are not available.
The kit captures the historic sailing frigate Bonhomme Richard in 1:500 scale. The model from the Czech brand Smer comes as a set of injection-molded plastic parts to be glued and painted. It is a smaller model of a three-masted sailing ship with a molded hull, deck detail and planking strips, suited as a decorative piece as well.
Bonhomme Richard was a sailing warship of the period of the American War of Independence. Originally she was a converted merchant ship, made famous by a duel with a British frigate. The three-masted vessel with a full suit of sails represents a typical wooden warship of the 18th century.
On a sailing ship, pay attention to the masts and the yards; glue the parts with a thin cement for plastic and apply a base coat (primer) before painting. You can bring the hull and the decks to life with wood shades and a fine wash, and the rigging can be added with your own thread for a more convincing look. The smaller scale favors a clear, clean finish. The finished model looks good on the base supplied.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
