An ammunition box for the 3.7 cm KwK 38(t) gun in 1:72 scale, an accessory for dioramas and for loading a vehicle.
Responsibility details are not available.
The gun designated 3.7 cm KwK 38(t) was the main weapon of the German light tank Pz.Kpfw. 38(t), an aircraft of Czechoslovak origin that the Wehrmacht took over and deployed in the first years of the war. The ammunition for it was carried and stored in boxes, and boxes like that were part of the ordinary inventory of every unit in the field: they stood beside vehicles, lay on the beds of trucks and in supply depots.
It is an accessory for a model in 1:72 scale, that is, a small item added to a finished vehicle or to a scene. Loaded materiel is one of the few things that can turn a model into a picture with a story: a tank with boxes on its fenders looks like a machine in the field, while a bare vehicle stays a technical exhibit. In a diorama it serves just as well as part of a supply post or as a small obstacle in the groundwork.
Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, choose the glue according to the material stated on the packaging and follow the manufacturer's instructions for the exact procedure. A box should not be flatly one color: break the base shade up with a darker coat into the joints and a lighter dry brush along the edges, which wear most in use. A little dust along the bottom edge ties the box in with the ground or the surface it lies on.
The accessory alone is supplied. The vehicle model, figures, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
