Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese ship Chiyoda in her midget submarine carrier version in 1:700 scale from Aoshima, from the Water Line range. The model is designed as a waterline kit (the hull cut at the waterline) and captures the Chiyoda in her configuration for carrying and launching midget submarines. Check the exact number of parts and marking options on the specific package.
The Chiyoda was a ship of the Imperial Japanese Navy that was converted into a carrier for Ko-hyoteki type midget submarines. In the stern she had equipment for launching and recovering midget submarines, which were to attack enemy ships. Later the ship was adapted for other duties as well. She took part in the fighting in the Pacific in the Second World War, where she was used within the operations of the Japanese fleet.
Set the waterline hull on a stand or into an imitation of a water surface. Fine deck fittings, cranes and railings come into their own with additional photo-etched parts (where these are not included in the package). Build and paint the deck and the superstructures separately first, and only then put everything together. Use an airbrush and period Imperial Japanese Navy shades for the finish, and fine-tune the weathering with washes and drybrushing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
