About product

Eduard 1:700 Japanese ship railings: photo-etched set

This photo-etched set is not a model, but a detail accessory. The fine railings in brass sheet are intended for models of Japanese warships in 1:700 scale and replace thick or missing plastic deck railings. The set is made by the Czech company Eduard, a leading brand in etched parts.

What the set is for

The railings are etched in long strips on the fret and are cut to size according to the deck and superstructures of the particular ship. Even at the tiny 1:700 scale, it is precisely the fine metal railings that make the greatest difference to the realistic impression of a finished model.

Usage tips

Work with tweezers and a sharp knife, as the parts are very small. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate) or with glue for photo-etched parts applied from the tip of a toothpick. Degrease the brass before painting, spray it with primer and paint it over in the color of the deck.

Who the set is for

  • Builders of Japanese warships in 1:700 scale
  • Modelers used to fine etched parts
  • Collectors of Imperial Japanese Navy subjects

This is an accessory, not a ship model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
