This is a resin set made for the plastic kit of the American Douglas A-4 Skyhawk carrier attack aircraft in 1:72 scale. The set is cast for the early version of the machine and replaces the wheels of the model with faithfully cast parts carrying a recessed tire tread pattern and defined hubs. Masking film is included for painting the tire and the hub cleanly.
The A-4 Skyhawk was a compact single-seat carrier attack aircraft with a characteristic delta wing. It stood out for its small size, low weight and a long service career with a number of navies. The early versions differed from the later ones in equipment and airframe detail, for example.
Wash the wheels to remove any mold release agent and separate them from the casting blocks. Bond the cast tires with their recessed tread with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Stick the masking film onto the wheel, spray the tire, and once the mask is peeled off the hub is left cleanly bounded. Protect your airways when sanding resin.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not an airplane model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
