A set of resin air intakes (scoop throats) for the German twin-engine Dornier Do 17Z bomber in 1:72 scale. It is an aftermarket detail part that will replace the simplified or blanked-off plastic intakes from the base kit, not a standalone airplane model.
The Dornier Do 17 was a German twin-engine bomber of the Second World War, nicknamed the Flying Pencil for its slender fuselage. The most widespread Do 17Z version was powered by a pair of Bramo 323 Fafnir radial engines. The scoop throats for cooling and for feeding air to the engines are among the characteristic details whose accurate shape brings a model to life.
Resin parts call for more careful work than plastic: first wash them to remove mold release residue, separate them carefully from the casting block (the gate) and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways while sanding and cutting small parts. Apply a primer before painting. Hold the intakes against the engine nacelles dry before gluing and check their position; open throats come out once a darker shade is set into their depth.
The part is supplied as a resin accessory, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
