A set of replacement engine exhaust nozzles for F-4B/C/D/N Phantom II models in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The McDonnell F-4 Phantom II is a twin-engine combat aircraft that became one of the most widespread machines of its day and served with a number of air forces. The B and N variants flew with the US Navy and the Marine Corps, the C and D variants with the US Air Force; the N version came from rebuilding earlier B machines. It is precisely this group of early versions that shares the same form of exhaust nozzle, which is why the name of the set lists them together.
The set brings replacement engine exhaust nozzles. On kits this area tends to be simplified: the nozzle is shallow, solid, or split into two halves with a seam down the middle, and yet it shows clearly on a finished model. The replacement part deals with the depth of the view into the nozzle and with the fineness of its inner surface.
Cut the original nozzles off the kit with a sharp blade a little short of the part and sand off the rest, so as not to damage the surrounding surfaces. Remove the excess material and any marks from production on the replacement parts carefully and dry-fit the seating before you reach for the glue. The parts are not polystyrene and cement for plastic has no effect on them, so make the joint with super glue. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Nozzles are among the places where heat discoloration of the metal shows on the real machine, so it pays to paint them separately and fit them only once the surroundings are finished.
The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
