The set from Quinta Studio is a colored 3D interior decal on decal paper. The instrument panel, the side walls, the seat and the belts are pre-printed in accurate colors and have fine three-dimensional relief, so painting and photo-etching the cockpit are no longer needed. It is intended for models of the FM-2 Wildcat fighter in 1:72 scale.
The FM-2 Wildcat was the license-built late version of the Wildcat carrier fighter from the Second World War. Lightened and with a more powerful engine, it served above all from the decks of escort carriers and was one of the mainstays of naval aviation until the end of the war.
The elements are applied like wet decals: the piece is dipped in water and slid onto the prepared place. Degrease the surface beforehand, seat the elements on a damp, smooth base and press them down with a soft brush. A decal softener is not used with these elements, it would break down the printed resin. Once dry, tie the whole thing together with a thin coat of matte varnish.
This is a modeling accessory, not a kit in its own right. The plastic model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
