This is not a kit or a photo-etched set but a set of masks. The self-adhesive film is cut in advance to the shape of the glazing frames and of the other areas that are covered while spraying. The template is peeled off, stuck onto the clear part, the framing is sprayed and once the paint has dried the mask is lifted off. On this type that is one of the greatest savings of work a modeler can have, because the extensively glazed nose has framing running in every direction and hand trimming of tape there is practically impossible to do cleanly. The masks are cut for the Hasegawa or Hobby 2000 kits.
The double-sided version. According to the name the set is double-sided, so it allows for the inner side of the glazing as well. On a glazed nose that makes sense, because there is a view inside from most angles. Spray the inner frames and stick the masks on before you seat the clear parts in the fuselage.
The He 111 was a German twin-engine bomber used during the Second World War. The H series made up the most numerous production group; the H-2 and H-3 versions were among its early configurations and differed mainly in equipment and defensive armament. A typical feature of the later versions is the fully glazed nose with an asymmetrically placed fairing over the pilots position, which tells the aircraft apart at first glance from the older machines with a stepped windscreen.
Wash and degrease the glazing. Carry the templates with tweezers and press the edges down thoroughly with a toothpick, because on a glazed nose the frames converge and paint is apt to run under. Spray thin coats. Take the mask off shortly after the paint has dried, with a pull along the surface. Plan the procedure in advance: spray the inner frames in the interior color before the fuselage is closed up, and only then mask and spray the airframe from outside.
The set contains masking templates only, not the aircraft model, paints or glue, unless stated otherwise.
