The set holds a resin instrument panel for the cockpit of a model of the Mil Mi-2 light helicopter (NATO reporting name Hoplite) in 1:72 scale. It is an aftermarket accessory from Quickboost (Aires) that replaces the simpler plastic part of the kit with a more faithfully cast panel with the instruments indicated. It is not a helicopter model but a detail accessory for the interior of the cabin.
The Mil Mi-2 was a light multi-purpose helicopter with a pair of turboshaft engines, produced in series under license and used in both civil and military service. In a small scale the instrument panel is a clearly visible feature of the glazed cabin. A finely rendered panel improves the look of an open interior.
Wash the resin part to remove the release agent, separate it from the casting block and fit it into the cabin. The relief of the instruments will stand out after painting and a light dry brush. Bond it with super glue (cyanoacrylate). When sanding resin, protect your airways and ventilate the area.
This is an aftermarket resin accessory. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
