1:72 MiG-29 9-12

MiG-29 9-12, photo-etched set (1:72, Eduard)

A detail accessory, not an aircraft model. It is a photo-etched set of fine metal parts meant to sharpen up the plastic kit of the Soviet fighter MiG-29 in the basic 9-12 version in 1:72 scale. Part of the set is color printed, so the instrument panel, the consoles and the seat belts look realistic without laborious painting. The set is shaped for the MiG-29 9-12 kit from Great Wall Hobby.

What the set contains and what it is for

• Colored photo-etched parts for the cockpit: the instrument panel and side consoles with their instruments.
• Seat belts for the ejection seat.
• Fine external and internal details that plastic cannot be molded thin enough for.

Use and fitting

• Check that you are building the MiG-29 9-12 from Great Wall Hobby, as the set is shaped for that kit.
• Cut or break the parts from the fret and bend them exactly along the etched lines, ideally in a photo-etch bender.
• Glue the colored parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) or with a small drop of clear varnish, so that the printing stays clean.
• Finish the cockpit before closing up the fuselage.

Who the set is for

For modelers building the MiG-29 9-12 in 1:72 scale who want to lift the detail of the cockpit and the surface above the level of plastic. Working with fine photo-etch calls for patience and tweezers.

This is a detail accessory, not an aircraft kit. The base model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
