This is not a kit of the aircraft but a resin accessory. The set covers the RPL-201 centerline drop fuel tank for a Mirage F.1 model in 1:72 scale, in the configuration the manufacturer designates as Irakien, that is after the machines operated in Iraq. The tank is hung under the fuselage on the centerline pylon. The attachment of the tank matches the centerline pylon of the Special Hobby kit.
A drop tank changes the silhouette of a model and its character fundamentally: a machine with a centerline tank reads as an aircraft on a long leg, whereas a clean airframe looks like a machine on standby. Production kits either do not contain the tank at all, or have it simplified and split into halves with a parting line all the way around. A resin casting removes this problem and tends to be more accurate in shape and in rendered detail.
Wash the part in lukewarm soapy water to rid it of the mold release agent. Cut the casting block off with a modeling saw and level the surface carefully with a file, as with a store it is crucial that the tank hangs parallel to the longitudinal axis of the machine and does not twist to the side. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The tank is easier to paint separated from the model, because it is often set apart in color from the airframe and is fitted only after the finish is applied. If you weather the model, expect the area around the filler cap and the underside of the tank to be the dirtiest.
