It is not a model and not a kit — it is a replacement for the clear screen of the fairing, the part that tends to be thickest and most distorting in an injection-molded kit. The vacuum-formed part is made of thin clear film, so it looks right for the scale. According to the manufacturer the set also includes printed screws. Per the box it is intended for the Beemax 13002 kit.
The Yamaha YZR-M1 was a prototype four-stroke MotoGP machine; the 2007 season was the first with an 800 cc displacement limit. On racing machines of this generation the clear screen above the front fairing has the shape of a narrow, tall wedge that directs the airflow over the rider's helmet when he is tucked in behind the fairing. It is a small thing, but on a model the eye finds it at once, because the instruments and the inside of the fairing show through it.
Vacuum-formed parts are separated from the backing film with a cut from a sharp blade, not with scissors — otherwise the film buckles. Even the edge out by drawing it over abrasive paper laid on glass. Glue it with an adhesive meant for clear parts or with a drop of cyanoacrylate with a filler; ordinary plastic cement will fog the film. Leave the protective layer on the part until you glue it. Scratches can be polished out with a plexiglass compound.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
