1:35 Concrete Breeze Blocks Version 11 (40pcs) is a diorama accessory in 1:35 scale from the range of concrete blocks of the brand GINGER CAT. It serves for building masonry and enclosures on a model base; it is neither a vehicle model nor a figure. The name gives forty pieces, so out of them an element of a scene in its own right will arise and a stock for further building as well.
Around warehouses, granaries and farm buildings concrete blocks appear perfectly commonly: they make up perimeter walls, the enclosures of storage yards and footings under lighter structures. On a diorama such an object serves as a background which gives the model context and at the same time closes the scene off. A wall built up block by block has, besides, a natural irregularity which is hard to reach with a single cast wall. The pieces not built in come in handy as material stacked by the wall or as ballast.
A method that proves itself: first sketch the plan on paper, then build the wall dry, and only at the end glue it. Sink the bottom course lightly into the ground so that the wall does not stand on the surface as if merely laid against it. In color, start from a light gray-beige and break the shade up with a few blocks a tone different; the natural variety of the material is the main thing that makes the result believable. Run the wash into the joints, the dry brush onto the edges, the pigment at the foot. At the end bring it all together with a matte varnish.
