The kit offers two consecutive versions of the German medium tank in one package, so the modeler chooses which one to build. The F2 and the G belong together: this is the moment when a support tank with a short barrel became a full-blooded anti-tank machine. The differences between the two versions lie in the details of the equipment, mainly in the form of the muzzle brake, the hatches and the external stowage, so it pays to decide before the build begins and to pick the parts accordingly.
The F2 version was the first to receive a long barrel of 7.5 cm caliber. The original short barrel was intended for infantry support and was not enough against armored targets, whereas the long barrel with its higher muzzle velocity made the tank a dangerous opponent for most machines of the day. The G version followed directly on from the F2 and in the course of production brought further changes to the armor and the equipment. With this step the Pz.Kpfw. IV went from a supplementary type to the mainstay of the German tank units.
Choose the version before you start gluing and, following the instructions, sort out the parts that belong to only one of them. Finish and varnish the running gear and the interior before you close the hull up. Try the tracks dry on the wheels and tension them only once they have dried. After varnishing, weather the model with a wash and pigments, mainly in the wheel wells and on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
