The metallic shade Pale Burnt Metal from the Alclad line supplied by AMMO of Mig Jimenez. It is a solvent-based lacquer that faithfully imitates light, warmly discolored heat-stressed metal. The bottle holds 30 ml and the paint is ready to spray with an airbrush without thinning.
The paint is intended for more experienced modelers working with an airbrush who want faithful metal shades. Metallic lacquers are harder to overspray and mask, so apply them at the end of the painting process. The pigment settles to the bottom, so stir the bottle thoroughly before use. Metallic shades show to best advantage over a dark gloss surface, because the metal pigment reflects the color of the base; over a matte or light surface they look less convincing. Apply the coats thinly and let them dry between passes, otherwise the fine metallic effect is easily drowned. Once dry the paint can be overlaid with clear tinting shades to create iridescent heat staining on exhaust systems.
A solvent-based lacquer – flammable. Use in a well-ventilated area, protect your airways and avoid open flame. It is not a water-thinnable paint.
