0.8 millimeters opens the coarser half of the size grid. A half-height hexagon for the joints that are meant to be seen on a motorcycle model.

0.8 mm is the first size of the second half of the program. While the smaller steps serve to keep a surface from looking empty, here the individual joint already carries a meaning of its own: a screw of such a size is noticed by a viewer on a model and he unconsciously judges the scale of the whole build by it.
The hexagon has a crown of middling height. It is neither sunk into the surface like the lowest variant of the program nor standing out like a full head, so it sits well with smooth painted surfaces. On a motorcycle it is the size typical for the mounting of the tank, the joints of the exhaust system or the screws on the clutch cover.
The manufacturer brings the coarser half of the grid together in a package that starts with exactly this step and ends at 1.2 mm. Five sizes together have the advantage when you build a whole machine and the diameters on it change according to which part you are working on. A single size, by contrast, wins where you know exactly what you want: when you repeat the same joint all over the frame, for instance, and need many of them the same.
With this size it already pays to pre-drill the hole properly, not merely to mark it with the point of a needle. Try the seating dry, check how the head seats against the surrounding surface and only then reach for the glue.
