A self-adhesive strip of asphalt roadway in H0 scale from the Heki company, measuring 100 x 8 cm. It is laid without glue straight onto a prepared surface.
Responsibility details are not available.
A continuous asphalt roadway is hard work on a layout: filling, sanding, repainting, and every transition between parts still tends to show. A ready-made strip solves that part of the job for you. The surface is even along its whole length and you can turn to what is around the road, that is to the houses, the shoulder and the traffic.
The strip measures 100 x 8 cm and is prepared for H0 scale, that is 1:87. Eight centimeters corresponds to a real roadway just under seven meters wide, which fits an ordinary road between villages as well as a main street in a town. A meter of length covers about 87 meters of road in the same scale.
Level the surface, dry it and remove the dust carefully, because every grain will show under the surface as a bulge. First lay the strip in dry and check the route and the joins to the areas around it. Then uncover the adhesive layer step by step and press the surface down from the middle out to the edges, so that no air stays under it. You adjust the length, turnings and gentle curves with a sharp knife against a steel ruler; make the cut in two passes.
New asphalt is too uniform on a model. Paler wheel tracks, a darker strip in the middle, dusty shoulders and a few patches will turn the strip into a road that has been driven on for years. Add the markings yourself according to your subject.
The package holds the road strip. A surface, the paints, vehicles and the other accessories of scenery are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
