Two Heki construction boards with a raised relief of a stone wall measuring 28 x 14 cm, prepared for H0 and TT scales.
Responsibility details are not available.
On a layout and on a diorama a stone wall belongs among the areas the eye notices first: the base courses of station buildings, the retaining walls at cuttings, the boundary walls around yards and farm buildings or the facing of bridge abutments. A board with a finished relief of masonry saves the work that cutting out individual stones would otherwise mean.
The package holds two boards measuring 28 x 14 centimeters. The relief is prepared for H0 and TT scales, that is 1:87 and 1:120. The length of a board corresponds in H0 scale to roughly twenty-four meters of a real wall and in TT scale to roughly thirty-three meters, so a pair of boards will cover even a long retaining wall.
Put the boards together side by side so that the courses of stones carry on smoothly, and cover the place of the joint with a pillar, a flight of steps or low greenery. Choose thin coats of paint: first an overall base tone, after it has dried a darker glaze, which will create shadow in the joints, and a dry brush on the edges at the end. Paint several stones in a different shade, so that the area does not look uniform. The lower part of the wall can be dirtied slightly, because that is exactly where moss and deposit from the ground collect in nature.
The set will serve builders of layouts and dioramas who want faithful masonry without lengthy modeling. Even a less experienced modeler will manage the painting.
The boards are supplied on their own. The paints, the glue and other parts of the building are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
