A starting grid in car scale

The starting position is the one place on a circuit where the cars are arranged in a regular pattern and where it makes sense to show them together. This display board offers exactly that scene: the print on the acrylic sheet captures the grid markings, that is the defined boxes with their horizontal lines, in which the machines line up before the flag drops.

What comes out of the packaging

The package consists of one finished sheet of acrylic three millimeters thick, format 410 by 270 millimeters, weight 410 grams. The surface is printed at the factory, so any preparation is done away with. Nothing is trimmed, joined or varnished, and you can start arranging models straight after unpacking.

For which builder

The set is intended for a collector who has at least three cars built in 1:24 scale and wants to display them as a starting field rather than as a row of individual pieces. It also suits photography well, because a flat glossy surface throws no extra shadow into the shot and the grid markings explain by themselves which moment of the race the scene represents.

The difference from an ordinary track

Grid markings are not the same thing as a print of open track. The horizontal lines give every car a fixed place and the viewer recognizes at once that this is the moment before the start, when the machines are stationary. A board with smooth asphalt, by contrast, expresses motion. The choice between the two variants therefore decides what action the display case will show, and it is worth making deliberately.

The limits of the equipment

The cars are sold separately, as are figures of mechanics, the starting lights and the track barriers. The display board covers only the surface. Anyone who wants to go further fills out the surroundings himself, and that is exactly where there is room for an idea of your own.
