The set provides an ACES II ejection seat in 1:32 scale for a model of the single-seat F-15 version. It replaces the seat from the kit, the one part that is best seen in the cockpit and the one against which the viewer measures the rest of the build.
In a large scale the cockpit is no longer just a suggested surface. A separately produced seat carries sharper definition of the harness, the buckles, the handles and the placards, which are usually lost in kit molding. When you display the model with the canopy open, this is the detail that decides the final impression.
Dry-fit the seat into the cockpit and adjust the mounting carefully as needed so that it sits at the right height and angle. Cut off any excess material with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder flush. Wash and degrease the part before painting and lay down a primer coat, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface.
A darker base, fine drybrushing of the edges and a harness done in a different shade all work well. A matte coat at the end will unify the surface and take away any unwanted shine. The manufacturer's instructions give the recommended glue and procedure.
For builders of single-seat F-15s in a large scale who want to display the cockpit open. It also serves as a replacement for a part damaged during the build, or for reworking an older model where the seat no longer keeps up with the rest of the work.
The aircraft model, the paints and the glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
