1:32 USAF F-111 pilots sitting in seats (2 pcs) for RESKIT RSK32-0002 kit

What the set contains

The set brings two figures of aircrew in a seated position in 1:32 scale, ready to be placed in a cockpit. It is an accessory for a model of the American F-111 combat aircraft, specifically for the kit with the manufacturer's part number RSK32-0002 from Reskit. Seated figures generally cannot be fitted into a model of another type without modification, because the shape of the legs and the torso matches a particular cockpit.

Why two figures

The F-111 had a crew of two, who sat side by side rather than one behind the other. The number of figures matches that, and the model can be built with both figures and with the canopy open, where the cockpit is most visible. An empty cockpit looks unfinished in a large scale, whereas an occupied one gives a model both a sense of scale and a story, and it is a rewarding element in a display case and in a diorama with airfield equipment alike.

Building and painting tips

If the parts are not polystyrene, ordinary cement for plastic models will not join them; use super glue. Cut away any excess material with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder carefully, so as not to sand the shape away. Wash and degrease the figures before painting, or the paint will not hold on the surface. Paint in layers, from the base color to the detail, and leave the face and the hands until last. In 1:32 scale the features are clearly visible, so it pays to work with a fine brush and thinned paint. The manufacturer's instructions give the detailed procedure for preparing the parts.
