An injection-molded plastic kit of the German heavy tank Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger I in the late production version in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Academy. The model offers hatches that can optionally be open or closed, one-piece rubber tracks and a rich decal sheet. A commander figure is included as well. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
The Tiger I was a German heavy tank that from 1942 commanded respect with its thick armor and its 8.8 cm KwK 36 gun. The late production version included all-steel road wheels without rubber tires, a modified commander's cupola with hinged periscopes and further simplifications of manufacture. This heavy colossus weighing around 57 tons was powered by a Maybach gasoline engine, and its thick frontal armor was able to resist most of the Allied anti-tank weapons of the day. Late Tigers fought in Normandy and in the defensive battles on the Eastern Front right up to the last months of the war.
Liquid cement for plastic and building in subassemblies are recommended. Finish and paint the running gear and the tracks before the hull is closed up. Late Tigers were usually given Zimmerit paste against magnetic mines; its texture can be added with putty. Lay the three-color camouflage on with an airbrush, bring out the details with washes and at the end add dust and mud pigments to the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
