The set contains two 3D-printed resin replicas of AN/ALQ-87 jamming pods in the late version. It is not an aircraft model but an external accessory intended to be hung under the F-4, F-111 and AC-130 machines. The printing captures fine surface details and sharp transitions.
The AN/ALQ-87 was an American electronic warfare pod used to jam the radars of air defenses. The late version differs from the early one in changes of shape and in the details of the casing. Pilots carried it on the pylons to make the guidance of enemy missiles harder.
Wash the parts free of uncured resin residue, separate the print supports and sand the surfaces with a respirator. Glue the joints with super glue. Apply a primer before painting; the fine details will stand out after a light emphasis of the shadows and the edges.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without the host model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
