A photo-etched detail set from the Czech firm Eduard for a model of the American Boeing AH-6J Little Bird light utility helicopter in 1:48 scale. It is not a helicopter model but an accessory that refines and sharpens selected elements of the cockpit and of the outside of the machine.

The real subject

The AH-6J Little Bird is the armed version of a light helicopter derived from the Hughes 500 type, flown by American special operations forces for direct fire support and rapid movement. The small, agile machine is marked by an open structure with a great many small details, which a photo-etched set rounds out well.

Use

• Parts of thin brass sheet replace or supplement fine elements that injection molding cannot manage
• The elements are separated from the fret, formed and glued with cyanoacrylate glue
• Once a base coat has been sprayed on, they are painted to match the model
• Recommended to modelers with experience of photo-etch

The accessory is supplied unpainted and without glue. The helicopter model itself and the paints are not included in the package.
