A Reskit sheet of technical stencils for the Foxbat in 1:48 scale brings small stencil markings only; large national insignia and tactical numbers are not on it.
Responsibility details are not available.
This sheet deals with one thing only, but thoroughly: the small stencil markings that cover the real machine all over its surface. They include the warning frames by the air intakes, the marks for the ground crew, the labels of the filler points and the lines that mark out the places where nobody may step. Large markings and tactical numbers are not in the package; those are added from another set or from the kit box.
On a large airframe such as the Foxbat, a clean surface without stencils looks unnaturally empty. It is exactly the dense network of small markings that gives a model its scale, and the viewer unconsciously judges the size of the machine by it. On types of Eastern production the stencils also make a strong contrast, because they were usually applied in a deep color against a light finish.
Work from the largest elements to the smallest and keep checking the positions against the drawing in the kit instructions, so that the stencils do not end up bunched in one place. Small motifs roll up easily, so transfer them on the tip of a damp brush and settle them with plenty of water under the film. Once everything has dried, even out the sheen of the whole surface with a single coat and only then let the weathering onto the model.
