This set holds four R-27 air-to-air missiles in 1:48 scale, produced with modern 3D printing technology. The package allows both the R-27R (radar-guided) and the R-27T (infrared-guided) variants to be built thanks to interchangeable seeker heads. It is an aftermarket armament accessory that replaces or supplements the missiles from the base kit, not a standalone model of an aircraft.
The R-27 (NATO reporting name AA-10 Alamo) is a Soviet, or rather Russian, medium-range guided air-to-air missile. It forms the standard armament of the MiG-29 and Su-27 fighters and their derivatives. The variants differ in the method of guidance: the R-27R uses semi-active radar guidance, the R-27T infrared.
Wash the parts, separate them from the carrier structures and clean them up carefully. Glue with cyanoacrylate. Missiles are usually sprayed in light gray shades with bands and heads picked out in color; the fine lettering comes out after a matte coat and a light wash.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the aircraft model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
