Replacement wheels for a model of the UH-34 Seahorse helicopter and the license-built Westland Wessex. This is a resin and 3D-printed set of replacement wheels for more experienced modelers that replaces the plastic kit wheels and brings a more faithful tread pattern and better defined hubs. It is not an airplane model but an aftermarket landing gear accessory.
The Sikorsky S-58, known in American service as the H-34 Seahorse, is a 1950s piston helicopter with a radial engine, used for transport as well as anti-submarine work. The British firm Westland built it under license as the Wessex, which was given turbine power instead. Both types share the airframe and the landing gear.
First wash the resin parts in warm soapy water to remove any mold release agent. Separate the wheels from the casting blocks with a sharp blade, level the cuts with sandpaper and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate) — cement for plastic will not hold on resin. The hub and the tire are easier to paint before final fitting; masking and a matte varnish will help.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted as a resin accessory. It is not an aircraft model; glue and paints are not included in the package. Protect your airways when sanding resin.
