AN/ALQ-87 ECM pods, early type (2 pieces) are a 3D printed resin accessory in 1:72 scale for models of American combat aircraft of the Vietnam War era.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set contains two 3D printed resin replicas of the AN/ALQ-87 jamming pod in the early rendering. It is not an aircraft model but a store accessory to be hung under American machines of the Vietnam era. The parts have fine surface detail and sharp edges.
The AN/ALQ-87 was an American electronic warfare pod that jammed the guidance radars of air defenses. Pilots carried it on the outer pylons to make targeting by surface-to-air missiles harder. The early version differs from the later one in shape and in external details.
Wash the parts to remove print resin residue, separate the print supports and sand the surfaces gently with a respirator. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a primer before painting; the small details come out after the shadows and edges are accented.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without a carrier model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
