A resin detail set of replacement wheels for models of the first-generation BAe Harrier in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory that replaces the plastic wheels from the box with more faithful castings with a fine tire tread and well-drawn detail on the hubs and the axles.
The first-generation Harrier (GR.1, GR.3, AV-8A, FRS.1 and Sea Harrier) was a British combat aircraft capable of short and vertical takeoff thanks to vectored thrust. The landing gear wheels are among the most visible parts of a finished model, and cast resin offers sharper detail here than injection-molded plastic can manage. The set tends to be a welcome improvement both when seen from close up and for photographing a model.
First wash the parts free of mold release agent residue in warm water with detergent, then separate them from the casting blocks with a sharp knife or a fine saw. They are bonded with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); wear respiratory protection while sanding. A dry test of the mating surfaces and any fine adjustment before the final gluing are recommended.
This is an add-on detail set, not the model itself. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
