An add-on set of landing flaps for models of the Boeing 737-800 and the P-8A Poseidon in 1:72 scale, meant for BPK kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Boeing 737-800 is an airliner of the 737 Next Generation family, and the P-8A Poseidon is the naval patrol aircraft derived from that type. On both, the landing flaps on the trailing edge of the wing extend for takeoff and landing and change the shape and the area of the wing so much that the silhouette of the aircraft alters markedly. It is exactly the landing configuration that most kits do not show.
Replacement flaps for BPK kits in 1:72 scale, which allow a model to be built in the landing configuration. The extent of the set, the number of parts and the extent of the changes needed to the kit wing are given by the manufacturer's instructions; go by them when setting out the position of the parts as well.
The parts are not polystyrene, so glue them with cyanoacrylate glue or with a two-part epoxy, which gives longer to align them. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the rest off flush. Before painting, wash the whole set in lukewarm soapy water and degrease it, or the paint will not hold. Extended flaps also reveal surfaces that are hidden on a folded wing, so think out the order of painting and masking beforehand. Keep checking the symmetry of the two halves by looking from behind.
The kit of the aircraft, the paints, the glue and the decals are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
