Reskit wheel set for the British Phantoms 1:72

This resin wheel set from the Ukrainian manufacturer Reskit is an aftermarket accessory for models of the British versions of the F-4 Phantom II fighter in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft kit, but a replacement for the plastic wheels, with a faithful tire tread and hub detail matching the British Phantoms.

The real subject

The British Phantoms (the FG.1 and FGR.2 versions) were powered by Rolls-Royce Spey engines and served with the Royal Air Force and the Royal Navy. Against the American versions they differed in a number of details, the landing gear among them, which is why a separate wheel set is made for them.

Usage tips

Wash the parts free of mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Sand with respiratory protection. Paint the tire and the hub separately.
