An accessory set in 1:72 scale for the model of the Republic F-105 Thunderchief fighter-bomber. The parts are not polystyrene and are glued with super glue.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Republic F-105 Thunderchief was an American fighter-bomber of the 1950s and 1960s, known among its crews by the nickname Thud. It was a large and heavy single-engine machine with a swept wing and an internal bomb bay, designed for a fast run-in at low altitude. In Vietnam it took on a substantial share of the strike tasks and it ranks among the best-known aircraft of that time.
The accessory is intended for models in 1:72 scale. Sets of this kind complement or replace part of a kit and tend to be drawn for a particular model, so their position and the order of assembly are described in the instructions enclosed with the set. This improves the places that tend to be simplified on an ordinary kit, without your having to rebuild the whole model.
Parts of this kind are not polystyrene, so cement for plastic models has no effect on them; join them with super glue. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder carefully so as not to touch the surface of the part itself. Sand dry in short strokes and keep checking how much material has come off. Before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry so that they are degreased; the paint then holds considerably better. Follow the manufacturer's instructions during assembly.
The kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
