A set of two 3D-printed (resin) KMGU-2 external stores in 1:72 scale from Quinta Studio. It is not a model in its own right — it is an accessory for a model with which you replace or complete the external stores on models of Soviet and Russian attack aircraft (the Su-25 Frogfoot, the Su-17/22 or the MiG-27, for instance). The set is generic, conceived for all kits, so it serves as an accurate replacement or addition without being tied to a particular kit.
The KMGU-2 is a universal dispenser for small loads. It is hung under an aircraft and in flight the system releases small submunitions from it in sequence — anti-personnel and anti-tank mines or small fragmentation bomblets stowed in blocks inside the container. It served for quickly mining an area or for striking exposed targets over a wide area and is carried by a whole range of machines of Soviet and Russian design.
First wash the parts free of mold release agent and carefully separate them from the casting blocks. Glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate), because ordinary plastic cement does not hold on resin. Protect your airways when sanding resin. Apply a primer before painting and spray the colors with an airbrush in thin coats; bringing out the engraved lines with a wash makes the surface detail stand out.
This is an accessory for a model, not a model of an aircraft. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
