Turned metal set MASTER 1:72 Su-7 (Fitter-A), pitot tubes and 30 mm cannon barrels replaces the plastic parts on the nose and in the wing roots and gives the model sharp, precise geometry.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a turned metal detail set, not an aircraft model. It replaces the plastic pitot tubes (airspeed sensors) on the nose and provides turned barrels for the 30 mm cannons in the wing roots of an Su-7 model in the Fitter-A configuration, in 1:72 scale. The metal parts have precise geometry, a hollow bore and will not break during handling.
The Sukhoi Su-7, Fitter-A in the NATO code, was a Soviet jet fighter-bomber with a heavily swept wing, brought into service at the end of the 1950s. It was marked by a pair of 30 mm cannons placed in the wing roots and by long airspeed sensors on the nose of the fuselage. It is exactly these slender pitot tubes and the cannon muzzles that are among the conspicuous features of the aircraft's silhouette, and in a small scale they are hard to reproduce faithfully and straight in plastic.
Cut off the plastic parts and glue the metal tubes and barrels in with super glue (cyanoacrylate) onto degreased surfaces; with the tubes it helps to pre-drill a hole in the remaining plastic. Turned metal keeps a perfectly straight axis, which thin plastic in this scale usually cannot manage. Before painting, coat the parts with a primer for better adhesion and leave the muzzles cleaned up.
It is not a complete model. The set does not include glue, paints or a kit; it serves as an accessory to a base model.
