Responsibility details are not available.
A universal sheet of markings from Xtradecal with the national insignia of US military aviation. It is not tied to a single type of aircraft: it serves as a stock of insignia for any American machine in 1:72 scale, whether you are building a wartime fighter or a modern attack aircraft.
The form of the American national insignia changed several times during the war and a modeler has to match it to the period being built. The original white star in a blue circle received rectangular bars on both sides in the middle of 1943, so that the insignia could be told apart from the Japanese one at a distance more easily. Shortly after that it was surrounded by a red outline, which was soon replaced by a blue one, because red led to confusion in combat. After the war a horizontal red stripe returned to the white bars, and in that form the insignia has lasted to this day. That is exactly why the name mentions an optional red bar: depending on the year you are modeling, you either use it or leave it out. On modern machines with low-visibility finishes the same marking is printed in gray shades only.
Stick the insignia on according to the drawing that came with your kit and watch that they are the same distance from the center line of the fuselage on both halves. A guide tape stuck parallel to a panel line helps. Split the large stars on the wing with a cut along the line, otherwise the film will ripple at the transition into the flap.
