A water-thinnable Gunze Acrysion acrylic paint in a shade for the inside of a cockpit. Intended for spraying with an airbrush.
Responsibility details are not available.
The cockpit is the first place a viewer looks on a finished aircraft through the clear canopy, and that is why it deserves a tone of its own. This paint of the Acrysion line from the Japanese maker GSI Creos is mixed for exactly that kind of work: it covers the seat, the instrument panel, the side consoles and the canopy frame and lets the fine relief show that a thick coat would drown.
The manufacturer lists the Acrysion line as a material for an airbrush, and brush application is not recommended with it. The bottle has to be stirred properly before paint is drawn out, because the pigment sinks to the bottom. It is thinned with water, or with Acrysion Thinner; Acrysion Tool Cleaner will clean the airbrush and the brushes after work. Two weak coats hold more reliably than one saturated one.
In the blue band above the name of the line, a white frame holds the number of the shade, and the name of the paint stands in the middle of the white field. To its left the gloss level is given – flat, gloss, semi-gloss or metallic. To the right you will find the recommended use: base tones, aircraft, cars, tanks and fighting hardware, ships or weathering. With aircraft, ground and naval hardware the country and the period when the shade was worn are usually added.
A dark wash sits well on the dried base, drawing into the corners and the engravings, together with a light drybrushing in a lighter tone along the edges of the consoles. The metal parts of levers and pedals gain character from rubbed graphite. It makes sense to finish the whole interior before the fuselage is glued together.
