A dark wine red from the acrylic Gunze Hobby Color range, 10 ml.
Responsibility details are not available.
The wine shade stands between fiery red and brown. That is exactly why it looks calmer on a model than signal tones and why it suits seat upholstery, the paintwork of older cars and motorcycles, railroad cars and locomotives, stripes on the fuselages of racing machines and small items such as a fire extinguisher or a leather satchel.
With this range, stirring is an essential matter, not a formality. The pigment settles while standing, and paint drawn from the upper part of the bottle dries badly and stays tacky. It is therefore worth stirring not only at the start but also as you go, above all before every refill of the gun's cup. Equally, it is not true that the thinner the better: overdoing the thinning leads to a rough, grainy surface, because the paint arrives at the model already half dried.
Dark red tones tend to merge into one flat area in a display case. A slight lightening of the edges and a dark wash into the grooves will help, because the difference between light and shadow gives the surface a depth the shade cannot carry on its own.
Wipe the cap of the bottle after every use. A dried crust on the thread means the neck stops closing fully, the paint in the bottle thickens and after a few sessions the shade shifts into a darker position.
