A hand pin vise for the very thinnest modeling drill bits. The manufacturer gives a clamping range of 0.1 to 0.6 mm, that is the diameters that cannot be clamped in an ordinary drill and that would snap at once in a powered tool. It is not a kit or an accessory for a model but a tool.
For modelers who work with details at the limit of visibility: aircraft interiors, ship rigging, fine wire on figures, plumbing in engine bays. At diameters under half a millimeter it is the centering of the bit that decides the result. The moment a bit turns in the jaws or sits off axis it bends and snaps at the first cut, so a pin vise with a narrow range saves more drill bits here than money. The thicker diameters from half a millimeter up are covered in the same range by the Pin Vise 02, so the two versions complement each other across the whole usual range of modeling drilling.
Drill bits are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. Drill bits of these diameters are very brittle, so drill without side pressure, in short cuts, and always support the part. Broken fragments can be sharp and hard to see, so protect your eyes and work over a light-colored surface.
