Paint Forge Lines Stencils L is a universal stencil with a line pattern in the larger L format. Straight stripes and bands cannot be sprayed freehand, and sticking tape down one piece at a time is slow.

A line stencil from Paint Forge in the larger size L. It solves a situation every modeler knows: you need several parallel stripes on a model and sticking the individual strips of masking tape down takes longer than the spraying itself. The stencil gives the whole group of lines at once and, above all, always the same way, whether you use it today or in a year on the next model.
With straight lines the eye is most sensitive to a mistake — a crooked hexagon mesh goes unnoticed, a ragged edge to a stripe does not. So on a flat area press the stencil down along its whole length, ideally secure it on both sides, and spray perpendicular. Apply the paint in coats until it has full cover; a single heavy dose always gets under the edge. On a curved surface count on the edge being somewhat softer, and rather make use of that as an effect than fight it.
You do not always have to uncover the whole pattern. When you tape some of the lines over, you get a different spacing or a different combination of widths. In this way a surprisingly wide range of schemes can be drawn out of one stencil without your reaching for further aids.
