Real Colors RC878 Russian Greyish Yellow, 17 ml

An acrylic modeling paint from the Real Colors range by AK Interactive, manufacturer's part number RC878, 17 ml bottle. The shade is listed under the name Russian Greyish Yellow, that is a grayish yellow from the Russian palette. It is a muted light tone with no brightness.

Where the color is used

Light grayish yellow tones appear on military equipment as the light element of multi-color camouflage, that is as the area that breaks up the shape of a vehicle beside a darker green or brown. It serves equally well as a base for dusty and parched surfaces, on tarpaulins, straps and crates, or as a light tone for gradually lightening large areas. Check the layout of the patches and their proportion against references for the machine you are building.

How to work with the paint

• Shake the bottle well before every load, as the pigment settles at the bottom.
• Light tones cover worse over a dark surface, so allow for several thin coats instead of one heavy one.
• When masking, let the shade underneath dry completely, otherwise the edges of the patches lift.
• For thinning and for cleaning tools use a thinner intended for the Real Colors range, in the ratio given in the manufacturer's instructions.
• Test the tone on an offcut, as a light color behaves differently over a large area than in a swatch.

Packaging and storage

Store the paint in a carefully closed bottle away from heat and frost. Paint that has thickened can be thinned, but check the resulting tone on a test swatch. The package contains one bottle of 17 ml. Thinner, brushes, an airbrush and a model are not included, unless stated otherwise.
