A hollow section in styrene (polystyrene) with a square outside dimension of 4.0 mm and a length of 350 mm, in a pack of 3 pieces. Unlike solid bars it has a hole running its whole length, so it behaves like a real closed section: from the outside it looks like a solid tube of square cross-section, but it is lighter and something can be pushed into it.
Divide a hollow section with a fine saw, because when snapped along a scored line the wall often gets pressed inwards. Then level the cut on a sanding block and clean the hole out so that a matching piece can be pushed in. When you push a thinner strip or a wire into the section, apply the glue inside before you push the part all the way home. The outer surface is sanded, filled and painted just like the plastic of a kit; only bear in mind that the wall is thinner than on a solid bar and does not take such aggressive sanding.
For modelers and diorama builders who need a square hollow item that a solid bar cannot replace, and for anyone who builds structures out of sections and appreciates being able to push the pieces into one another.
Glue, paints and tools are not included in the package. When cutting and sanding, work on a surface and in a well-ventilated room.
