Twenty-eight magnetic squares with a 40 millimeter side. A size meant for heavier models, cavalry and smaller monsters, where the ordinary small square is no longer enough.
Responsibility details are not available.
In tabletop games the 40 mm square carries what will not fit on a small base: a rider with a horse, an armored figure in heavy plate, smaller machines or monsters with a wide stance. Such a model tends to be heavier and above all taller, so while it is carried it acts like a lever. The larger the area of the magnet, the better it damps that movement.
The pack holds twenty-eight pieces, which covers an ordinary formation of such models with something in reserve. Use is simple: the square is seated in the bottom of the base and from underneath a steel plate, a steel tray or an insert in a case takes care of the rest. Nothing else restricts the model; it stands on a terrain board just as it did before.
With a tall model the position of its center of gravity decides more than the strength of the magnet. It pays to stand the figure on a plate and tilt it slightly; the side it slides toward is the one that needs the magnet under it most. If the model overhangs the edge of the base, the area can be enlarged with a second square glued edge to edge.
The material divides easily, so one square will yield two rectangles with scissors for two smaller bases. Make the cut in a single pass so the edge stays straight and the square seats over its whole area. Before gluing, wipe the bottom of the base with alcohol as well; mold release residue is the most frequent reason a magnet works loose in time. With a hollow base filled with modeling putty, let the filling cure completely before gluing, otherwise the joint will draw moisture from inside.
