1:24 Wing Parts Vol.1 is an add-on set of rear downforce wings for models of cars in 1:24 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Aoshima. It is not a kit of a car but parts for reworking a model you already have.

The accessory is meant for builders of tuning and racing cars who want to give a model a character of their own. The rear wing is among the features that change the look of a car at first glance, and swapping it is therefore the quickest way of setting a build apart from a model straight from the box. The designation Vol.1 suggests that this is the first part of a line of add-on sets.
The modeling tuning scene is built to a large extent on combining parts: a body from one kit, wheels from another, aerodynamic features from separate sets. The rear wing is meanwhile the most visible feature in that assembly and its shape determines whether the result comes across as a street conversion or as a circuit special. The set gives you a choice without your having to sacrifice a whole further kit.
Fit the wing only onto a finished, varnished body, otherwise it is hard to varnish and there is a risk of damaging the paint. Mark the position out first and measure it from the edges of the trunk lid; with a wing set on out of true nothing will help. Pre-drill the holes for the uprights with a micro drill; never punch through the plastic. It is glued with cyanoacrylate applied with a pin or with two-part glue, which gives time for alignment. In color either a shade identical with the body or a contrasting black or a carbon pattern applied with a decal proves its worth. Gloss varnish at the end will unify the surface of the wing with the body.
This is an add-on set of parts, not a kit of a car. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
