The stylized kit Titanic Chinese Landscape from Suyata, without a declared scale — a decorative scene with the liner Titanic conceived in the spirit of Chinese landscape painting.
Responsibility details are not available.
An unassembled and unpainted plastic kit from a stylized line of compact and simplified models. It has no declared scale — the proportions are deliberately adjusted so that the result works as a decorative object rather than as an accurate replica. The subject is the liner Titanic set into a landscape composition inspired by East Asian painting. The exact package contents, the number of parts and the dimensions of the finished scene are given on the packaging of the kit.
Stylized kits without a scale stand on the border between modeling and decoration. The parts tend to be larger and simplified in shape, the assembly aims at the overall impression of the scene rather than at documentary accuracy, and the finished piece is usually built as a self-contained tableau on a common base. That is exactly why such models work well as a gift or as a piece for an interior, where a classic model in an exact scale would look too technical.
Cut the parts off with nippers and level the remains of the sprue gates, as every stub shows on larger smooth surfaces. Glue with liquid cement for plastic and sand the joints in visible places. With a decorative scene it pays to work more freely with color than on a historical model: a uniform base, then thin covering coats and finally accents. The landscape elements come to life with soft transitions of shade and a light wash in the recesses; for a coherent impression it is best to unify the whole scene at the end with a clear coat in the degree of gloss you choose.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
