The leaning strongman from the civilian Muscle Man range by the manufacturer MAiM is a figure that literally calls for interaction with its surroundings. A leaning pose tells a story in itself: the figure is waiting for something, watching something, hanging about by something, and the viewer works out the rest.
The key is something to lean on. The side of a car in 1:24 scale, the corner of a building, a street light, a workshop door or a fence: the figure will lean believably against any of them and turn a static backdrop into a lived scene. It works superbly in garage and street dioramas, and combined with the seated or posing colleague from the same range it makes the kind of relaxed crowd you know from every meeting.
Clean the casting up, wash it and prime it. With a leaning figure, try the exact position against its support in advance and only then glue it down for good; a small shim of filler will help it sit. Paint the muscular figure by layering skin tones with shadow in the hollows, and leave the clothing matte so that the skin stands out.
