A shopping cart is a small thing that gives a scene conviction faster than another vehicle model. Standing by the rear doors of a station wagon, parked at the edge of a parking lot or tipped over in a ditch, it tells you at once where the action is set and what has happened in it. In 1:24 scale, the scale of ordinary car models, a real cart measures only a few centimeters on the model, yet it still draws the eye.
