A diorama accessory cast in resin for 1:35 scale. It is not a model of a vehicle and not figures, but an architectural element for a scene: a tall factory chimney broken by damage, complemented by broken-off masonry and rubble for its foot. The assembled chimney reaches a height of 235 mm, so in a scene it works as a striking vertical landmark and at the same time as the compositional axis around which the equipment and the figures are arranged. It can also be used on its own as a display object.
Resin castings: the body of the chimney divided into parts and loose debris of masonry. The resin holds the sharp edges of the bricks, the joints and the irregular breaks, so the detail does not have to be scribed in. The package does not contain a base, figures, equipment, paints or glue.
Wash the parts first in warm water with detergent, so that the remains of the mold release agent are removed; otherwise the paint will not hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disc and level the areas; sand resin rather wet and protect your airways. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue, and on large mating surfaces a thicker gel version and an internal stiffener help, because the tall part is heavy. Apply a primer before painting. Brickwork looks best with a layered approach: a base tone, then differing shades for the individual bricks, a dark wash into the joints and a dry brush on the edges. Indicate dust and building rubble with pigments, and around the place of damage a darkening with soot tones suits well. Mask the transition between the chimney and the base with textured paste or with fine rubble.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
