Plastic model kit of the British battleship HMS Rodney from Tamiya in 1:700 scale, waterline version.
Responsibility details are not available.
Injection-molded plastic kit of the British battleship HMS Rodney from Tamiya in 1:700 scale, from the waterline range. The model shows the hull above the waterline and is built on a flat surface like a ship afloat. The box holds parts for the hull, the main armament turrets, the superstructure and the light armament. On this type of waterline kit the hull and the main deck form a single part, so the work is mainly gluing the superstructure and the armament. It is a kit to be assembled and painted, not a finished model.
HMS Rodney was a British Nelson-class battleship with an unusual layout: all three main armament turrets were placed ahead of the bridge superstructure. During the Second World War she became known above all for her part in sinking the German battleship Bismarck in 1941. The model reproduces her typical silhouette with the guns set forward.
A waterline model is built on a flat base; glue the turrets and the superstructure with care and use super glue for the small anti-aircraft armament parts. Paint the hull and the decks in British naval shades and set the wooden areas apart. A dark wash in the recesses and a fine patina will bring out the bulk of the ship. The detail can be extended with aftermarket photo-etched railings and a display stand.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
